Stocking Specialist

The Stocking Specialist ensures the orderly and timely flow of component parts, assemblies, and subassemblies to meet production schedules. This role is responsible for issuing materials to production operations, handling large and heavy work pieces to support manufacturing processes, and maintaining effective inventory control over all incoming and stocked materials, equipment, and supplies. The Stocking Specialist independently performs essential functions, supports production through accurate material handling, and contributes to a safe and clean work area.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the orderly and timely flow of component parts, assemblies, and subassemblies to meet production schedule requirements.
• Issue materials accurately and promptly to production operations.
• Handle large and heavy work pieces safely to support operations such as shearing, punching, drilling, bending, and deburring.
• Perform regular area cleanup and safety-related duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain effective inventory control over all incoming and stocked materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Use computer systems to perform routine tasks such as data entry, inventory updates, and material tracking.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, planners, material coordinators, and internal customers to support team goals.
• Identify material shortages and participate in problem-solving activities to resolve issues quickly.
• Document scrap and salvage parts accurately and ensure proper distribution and recording.
• Prepare and kit daily or weekly assembly picks as required by the job function.
• Follow established procedures for routine work and seek specific instructions only for new assignments.
• Work with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to processes.
• Support cycle counts, stocking activities, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and production control tasks as needed.
• Contribute to quality checks related to materials and inventory to ensure accurate and reliable production support.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency with computers to handle routine tasks, including data entry and basic inventory transactions.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and internal stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
• General knowledge of material planning, material control, manufacturing environments, and inventory methodologies.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a production setting.
• Collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to work toward shared goals.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs and schedule adjustments.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while following established procedures.
• Comfortable lifting up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time during the shift.
• Ability to repeatedly climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch as part of daily tasks.
• Ability and willingness to work at various heights using a ladder.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in production or manufacturing environments.
• Warehouse experience, including stocking and order fulfillment activities.
• Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, and production control processes.
• Shipping and receiving operations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality checks in material handling.
• Team-player attitude and willingness to learn new tasks and systems.

Work Environment:

This is a first-shift role with standard hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of transitioning to one weekend day per week after the initial period. The position currently includes 10 hours of mandatory overtime each week. Work takes place in a very clean, organized, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The environment involves regular standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and performing physical activities such as climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching, including working at heights using a ladder. Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of State College, PA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
