Job Type Full-time Position Summary A member of the Maintenance department in our food service division, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of our food manufacturing facility and its equipment and systems. Technicians must comply with food manufacturing policies and GMPs at all times while performing preventative maintenance tasks across complex steam, ammonia, compressed air, and other systems. Pay Range $25.00 - $35.00 per hour Hours & Schedule 6:00 pm - 6:00 am, 4 days a week (must be willing to work overtime and weekends) Location Walton, KY Travel Requirements None Work Environment Food Manufacturing Facility Core Responsibilities Supports the mission, values, and vision of the company. Monitors ammonia, wastewater, soft water, steam, and compressed air systems daily to ensure critical operating conditions. Takes initiative to resolve issues as they arise and promptly reports out-of-spec parameters and run conditions to the Facilities Manager. Repaints air, water, and steam leaks and fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and water dispensers throughout the facility. Possesses knowledge in plumbing, electrical, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, water treatment, pumps, and fluid dynamics; training is offered for areas lacking. Works within a team environment to share information and assist colleagues. Performs inspections on evaporative coolers, HVAC systems, and updraft fans. Checks system operations for running conditions, belt tensions, pump and cooler pad performance, bearing, motor mount, bolt conditions, and adjusts alignment of motor and belt pulleys as needed. Conducts weekly checks of rooftop ammonia refrigeration piping. Inspects proper operation of HVAC units including condensate drains, fan operation, and UV lights. Assists the Maintenance Department in repairing work outside normal scope when required. Fulfills work order requests and logs labor hours in CMMS software; work order types may vary (PM, PMFSQ, CO, etc.). Values communication and honesty above all else. Provides timely and efficient resolutions to all mechanical issues. Sets an example for other employees by following all safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Can work independently, with little to no supervision, and follows a maintenance schedule. Hand tools are provided by the technician; specialty tools are provided by LME. Requirements Working knowledge in electrical, HVAC, ammonia refrigeration, heat transfer, and steam generators/boilers. Strong troubleshooting ability. Clear communication skills to discuss issues, repairs, and processes with the team. Calm under pressure. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook for emails. Familiarity with computers and touch screens. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 1–3 years experience in a construction-related environment. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2–3 years experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or industrial maintenance.
