Details PCU (Progressive Care Unit) setting providing telemetry and stepdown-level care Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with 1:4-5 ratios Common diagnoses include long-term pulmonary conditions, ENT surgery, and other surgical cases requiring stepdown care Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7p-7a 13-week contract length Every other weekend required Every other holiday coverage required, if needed Floating required within skillset EPIC EMR experience required Requirements Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a Compact state) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Telemetry and stepdown/PCU/DOU/IMC-level care experience required Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management required Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and administering blood products required Central and peripheral line care/management experience required IV therapy/phlebotomy and isolation precautions experience required EPIC charting experience required Additional Information Provide telemetry and stepdown-level nursing care to adult and geriatric patients Work in a Magnet-recognized, academic teaching hospital certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center Scrub colors limited to navy blue and white, in any combination First-time travelers accepted Locals within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for RN positions Previous employees may reapply after a 6-month system-wide break in service American Traveler Job ID P-750160.
