Responsibilities
- Provide direct obstetric nursing care for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients.
- Monitor maternal condition and fetal status; perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring; respond promptly to non-reassuring tracings.
- Administer medications and assist with labor, vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and related procedures; coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC experience strongly preferred); communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, continuous patient care.
- Float to Medical-Surgical units as needed and, per assignment, care for pediatric patients; participate in standard on-call and weekend coverage as scheduled.

Requirements
- Current RN license to practice in Kansas.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP. Must have completed a fetal monitoring class (intermediate or advanced) within the past 24 months; must be committed to obtaining PALS prior to start.
- Experience: 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience; willingness to float to Medical-Surgical units and care for pediatric patients; 3+ years of LDR experience in a rural setting preferred; travel experience a plus; EPIC experience highly preferred.
- Availability to work 3x12-hour night shifts; weekend coverage as required (every other weekend) and 2–3 on-call shifts per month.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity obstetric setting and to meet the assignment’s credentialing and orientation timelines.
