Engineer II, Field Service (Liquid Handler)

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an Engineer II for field service supporting liquid handler automation equipment. The role involves remote-based installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of electromechanical systems with 75% travel requirements across Texas or Virginia regions.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, repair, test, and calibrate electromechanical instrumentation and systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and field upgrade modifications using technical manuals and bulletins
• Maintain customer service logs and internal records; coordinate communications for issue resolution
• Troubleshoot equipment problems on-site and conduct root cause analysis independently
• Travel 75% of the time to support regional customers and equipment installations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical or electrical engineering, or 3+ years field equipment service experience
• Hands-on experience maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electromechanical medical devices
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly/test procedures
• Soldering skills and knowledge of bench-top electromechanical repair techniques
• Familiarity with Tecan automation hardware/software preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Windows operating system and Microsoft Office proficiency
