Physician Bronson Outpatient Internal Medicine Portage - Portage, MI

Position Overview

Internal Medicine Physician – outpatient practice located at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Portage, MI. The physician will work alongside six physicians and two advanced practice providers in a hospital‑employed, outpatient‑only setting Monday‑Friday 8:00AM‑5:00PM.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose illnesses, prescribe and administer treatment for patients, and perform or interpret diagnostic tests.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies, and counsel patients on preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet.
• Review and manage long‑term patient care cases, including follow‑up and referrals as needed.
• Document all services in the patient medical record and maintain confidentiality of patient information per federal regulations.
• Participate in process improvement, continuing education, and management initiatives established by the hospital or clinic.
• Assist in conflict resolution and patient‑related inquiries, working collaboratively with the ambulatory care team.

Qualifications

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Internal Medicine.
• Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of Michigan.
• DEA licensure and current DPS/medical staff privileges.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and verbal/telephone etiquette skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered, quality care in an ambulatory setting.
• Minimum call requirement acceptable for this outpatient position.
