Job Summary:

PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) needed for a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare facility. The position is based in an operating or recovery area where the nurse will care for patients transitioning from anesthesia post-surgery. The role involves managing a diverse patient population with various surgeries, ensuring patient safety, and responding to high-volume, high-intensity clinical situations.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts with start times at 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, and 1900; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, at least 1 year of nursing experience including ICU and/or high-acuity PACU experience; current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ability to work rotating shifts and high-stress environments.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous ICU and/or high acuity PACU experience preferred.
• Additional Information: The PACU RN will care for patients who have undergone vascular, thoracic, gynecologic, neuro, orthopedic, and transplant surgeries. Responsibilities include managing ventricular/ICP drains, arterial/central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and trachs. The role requires adaptability to controlled chaos, especially during evening hours, with regular overnight boarding of ICU, neurosurgical, step-down, or medical/surgical patients.
