It supports the RWJBH & Rutgers Health Neurosurgical service-line, and this position will help the Department of Neurosurgery in its clinical and academic mission. Rutgers Neurosurgery has a residency program, an endovascular and skull base fellowship program, and hosts a vast campus community with undergraduate and graduate medical training centers at Newark, New Brunswick, and Livingston. There is abundant clinical material, research resources, and opportunities to train residents and teach students. The RWJMS research department, headed by Dr. Detlev Boison, includes research programs such as Epilepsy Research, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spine Research Laboratory, Neuropathic Pain Research, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimaging, Neurostimulation, Cancer Research, and Clinical Trials. Candidates are expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities, emphasizing mentoring of students and trainees. The location is desirable due to proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, and the Jersey Shore beaches.
