Position Summary
The Junior Staff – Impact Care Advocate is an experienced, highly dependable administrative caregiver who protects continuity of care in the field. This role provides flexible scheduled and short-notice coverage, completes non-clinical wellness and quality checks, and sets the standard for safe, compassionate, reliable non-medical in-home care.
Working closely with Staffing, Clinical, Human Resources, and Operations, the Care Advocate supports caregiver training, reinforces clear expectations, and identifies concerns before they become preventable hospitalizations, institutional placements, or interruptions in client care. The ideal candidate is clinically experienced, calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and confident in modeling what good looks like in every home.
Essential Responsibilities
Client Coverage, Safety & Quality of Life
• Provide dependable, compassionate non-medical in-home care and companionship in accordance with each client’s authorized care plan.
• Fill scheduled and short-notice caregiver shifts during call-offs, recruitment gaps, unexpected absences, or changing client needs.
• Support approved personal care, mobility assistance, safe transfers, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, errands, and companionship services.
• Observe changes in a client’s safety, condition, environment, mood, mobility, nutrition, or care needs and promptly communicate concerns to the nursing team and leadership.
• Help prevent avoidable decline, hospitalization, institutionalization, missed care, and client dissatisfaction by recognizing risks early and escalating them appropriately.
Caregiver Training, Standards & Coaching
• Serve as a field standard-bearer who demonstrates Impact Home Health expectations for professionalism, reliability, client-centered care, safety, communication, and documentation.
• Assist with peer-to-peer caregiver training by demonstrating basic caregiving techniques, including safe transfers, personal care routines, documentation reminders, and professionalism in the home.
• Provide constructive, strength-based feedback to new, developing, or struggling caregivers while maintaining a high bar with humility.
• Model accountability by reinforcing attendance, communication, care-plan adherence, timely documentation, and ownership of concerns.
• Promote a Culture of Care through respectful caregiver interactions, mentorship, recognition, and practical support.
Quality Assurance, Documentation & Accountability
• Conduct assigned non-clinical wellness check-ins and in-home quality observations to ensure care is delivered with dignity, consistency, and attention to client preferences.
• Verify that caregiver documentation, arrival times, communication practices, and care routines meet agency standards.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation for assigned shifts, wellness checks, training support, and client concerns.
• Track assigned engagement, coverage, and quality-related activity; share trends, feedback, and practical solutions with leadership.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with agency policy, client rights, HIPAA expectations, safety procedures, and applicable state requirements.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Field Support
• Partner closely with Staffing to understand client assignments, coverage priorities, caregiver fit, schedule changes, and service concerns.
• Coordinate with the nursing team, Agency Administrator, Staffing Manager, and other leaders to ensure clients and caregivers receive aligned, timely support.
• Participate in field visits, caregiver meetings, and service follow-up as needed to resolve concerns, reinforce expectations, or support continuity of care.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality, training, and caregiver-engagement needs and recommending practical solutions.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active Kansas CNA license strongly preferred; comparable medical home health, home health aide, hospice, assisted living, or direct-care experience may be considered.
• Minimum of two years of professional caregiving, CNA, home health, or closely related direct-care experience required.
• Demonstrated experience providing personal care, mobility assistance, transfers, companionship, and client-centered support in home or community settings.
• Previous experience mentoring, training, leading, or supporting other caregivers strongly preferred.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and ability to meet agency insurance
Skills & Competencies
• Strong caregiving judgment and a clear commitment to protecting client independence, dignity, and quality of life.
• Dependable, flexible, self-disciplined, and able to adapt quickly to new client homes and care situations.
• Excellent communication, active listening, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Professional, organized, detail-oriented, and accountable with documentation, follow-through, and time management.
• Calm, respectful, and solution-focused under pressure; comfortable escalating concerns promptly and appropriately.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, scheduling platforms, digital documentation tools, and communication systems.
Benefits & Work Arrangement
• Health, dental, vision, life, and supplemental insurance options.
• 401(k), paid time off, paid orientation, and tuition reimbursement.
• Mission-driven team culture, employee recognition, professional development, and meaningful work that improves lives.
Performance & Acknowledgment
Performance is evaluated on fulfillment of job responsibilities, demonstrated alignment with Impact Home Health values, quality and timeliness of care, documentation, collaboration, and positive outcomes. Reviews occur at 90 days, six months, and annually thereafter.
