Universal Banker - Float

Job Purpose The position provides excellent service to customers in accordance with Peoples Bank policies. The role will open deposit accounts, handle CSR transactions, sell and cross‑sell bank products and services, generate and execute consumer loans, and resolve customer service issues. This position engages in sales and service activities in branch locations and contributes to the success of the banking center by identifying opportunities for sales referrals and directing customers to the appropriate product or channel to meet their needs. Job Duties Deliver superior customer service with a friendly demeanor and a can‑do attitude. Develop and retain the customer base by greeting customers by name, maintaining account knowledge, and responding in a timely manner. Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer business confidential. Maintain balancing records that comply with policy and correct outages as needed. Process complex multi‑step transactions. Research and offer solutions to resolve customer issues using organizational resources, and provide timely follow‑up. Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for endorsement and negotiability. Acquire and use consumer lending product knowledge to generate and execute consumer loans, lines, and deposit products. Be self‑motivated and assertive, performing well in a sales environment and interacting professionally with customers and team members. Turn service encounters into dialogue‑based meetings to uncover additional customer needs. Consistently meet or exceed sales referral goals set by management and maintain a working knowledge of all products and services offered. Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs and effectively refer customers to business partners for sales and cross‑selling opportunities. Consistently complete required training for all bank and branch policies and procedures. Interpret documents such as safety rules, account documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and consumer loan documents. Define and offer solutions to resolve problems, using organizational knowledge to identify helpful resources. Follow operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance. Make sales calls via phone or Zoom to clients and/or prospects weekly to meet branch calling goals, recording those calls in Salesforce. Interpret data to evaluate acceptable lending ratios and product and service opportunities. Meet scheduled working hours as designated by the manager to ensure effective branch functionality. Adhere to Retail Branch Standards, including dress code. Perform special projects as assigned. Education, Experience and Job Skills High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1‑year work‑related experience in customer service. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with high accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient in basic computer operations and standard applications; quick to learn job‑specific software. Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive and professional attitude. Proven team player. Daily reliable and timely transportation for consistent travel to various branches. Ability to stand consistently and perform required physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and accessing equipment; may require lifting up to 25 lbs. Ability to travel to attend internal education and meetings, sometimes including overnight stays, and to fill in at other branches as needed. Must pass background and credit checks to hold NMLS credentials. Trustworthiness and confidentiality are essential. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1‑year work‑related experience in customer service. Daily reliable and timely transportation for consistent travel to branches. Ability to stand consistently and perform required physical tasks; may need to lift up to 25 lbs.
