Direct Hire Production Maintenance Technician in Hazleton, PA, $27hr to $33hr to Start!

PeopleShare is seeking a reliable and skilled Production Maintenance Technician to support our client’s manufacturing operations by maintaining, servicing, and repairing equipment in a food-grade production environment. This role plays a vital part in ensuring food safety, product quality, and operational efficiency. This is a Direct Hire Position.

Job Details for Production Maintenance Technician:

• Schedule: 12-hour Night Shift 6pm-6am including some weekends
• Pay Rate: $27hr to $33hr

Job Responsibilities & Description for Production Maintenance Technician:

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment (greasing, oiling, inspecting belts, chains, gears, sprockets, etc.)
• Conduct basic repairs and troubleshoot issues using hand and power tools
• Maintain knowledge of the entire plant, including unloading, processing, and packaging systems
• Safely operate forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary
• Fabricate parts using welders, torches, and other basic tools
• Handle and dispense maintenance and sanitation chemicals safely
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance instructions
• Report quality or food safety issues to the FS/QA Manager immediately
• Set up and perform HIP operations in accordance with company policies
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following company safety protocols
• Support other departments and perform cross-functional tasks as needed
• Be available for flexible scheduling and shift coverage (including covering for absences or business needs)

Job Requirements for Production Maintenance Technician:

• Previous experience in industrial or production equipment maintenance preferred
• Basic mechanical and fabrication skills
• Ability to read and follow SOPs and safety documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and perform cross-functional tasks

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities
• Ensure equipment is in proper working condition and suitable for food production
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Comply with company cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) policies
• Report any issues that could impact food safety or quality immediately

Occupational Safety
• Follow all company safety rules and procedures
• Report any safety hazards or risks to management or the safety committee
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and support a culture of workplace safety

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be comfortable with bending, standing, crawling, climbing ladders, kneeling, and working in hot and/or dusty environments for extended periods
