Prem Services Tech

: Receives inbound customer service calls regarding billing and other questions or issues. Processes basic to complex premium accounting activities for active and inactive accounts. Reviews and processes cash related work items to ensure payments are posted timely and accurately through a variety of established procedures in multiple systems.

We have a current opening for a Premium Services Technician. In this position you will process basic to complex premium accounting activities for active and inactive accounts. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing cash related work items to assure payments are posted timely and accurately through a variety of established procedures in multiple systems.

What You'll Do

• Uses multiple business systems for accounts receivable duties including reconciliation of account discrepancies, transferring of funds, exchanges of funds, research, and processes unidentified cash.
• Thorough review of nonpaid cancellations and determines appropriate action required, including putting cancellation through for processing.
• Provides assistance to the Analyst to collect and verify in Sharepoint Bankruptcy information. May initiate and/or release a variety of dividends and appropriate letters to producers.
• Ensures timely and accurate application of premium to accounts and the correct payment of commissions to agents. Uses a variety of established billing procedures and systems.
• Communicates effectively in response to questions from any of the following; sales support, account managers, and customer and supporting units. Handles questions regarding billing and payment histories, cash items, and policy status. Provides basic account billing recaps.
• Conduct appropriate follow-up activities to bring outstanding balance and cash application issues to a timely resolution, while ensuring that quality level commitments are met through FOCUS (Financial Operations Consolidation and Utilities System).

In addition, you

• May be responsible for training, quality audits of accounts, and procedure development. May be involved in projects directly related to Premium Services, cash handling including development of procedures and test plans, user testing in multiple systems.
• May work with collection agencies in the collection of past due accounts. May be responsible for premium remittance submitted by the Third Party/Broker Administrator.
• May handle less complex accounts to ensure the prompt and accurate receipt, processing and collection of premium or writeoff.
• Handles multiple activities including the emailing of invoices, return mail, stale dated checks, and bank return items.
• Processes payments and inquiries from the customer through PayPoint.
• Performs other job-related duties requiring the same general knowledge, skills and degree of responsibility commensurate with assigned level.

What it Takes

• Associate Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3 years of related work experience.
• Intermediate accounting, math aptitude and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and human relation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced personal computer skills in multiple software programs.
• Ability to work within specific time limitations.
• Ability to develop alternate solutions to best resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
• Requires a high level of adaptability.
