In this pivotal role, you will design, implement, and manage comprehensive equity programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while supporting our mission to develop safe and beneficial AI systems. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including People, Legal, Finance, and Tax to ensure our equity programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our values as a public benefit corporation.As Anthropic continues to scale globally, you will play a critical role in building equity frameworks that support our international expansion while maintaining consistency with our compensation philosophy. This role offers the opportunity to shape equity compensation practices at one of the most important AI safety companies during a period of significant growth.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily equity plan operations including grant processing, option exercises, cancellation and cap table management.Build and optimize processes for equity transactions while ensuring accuracy and complianceManage monthly equity reconciliations and reportingLead demographic and payroll system integrations to streamline equity operationsDevelop and implement automated processes for tax rate calculations and payroll integrationCreate scalable workflows that can support our growing headcount and global expansionProvide high-touch service to ensure employees understand their equity compensationExecute simple equity tax calculations in coordination with payroll processingEnsure timely and accurate tax withholding and reporting for equity transactionsSupport development of equity tax policies and proceduresDesign and document standard operating procedures for all equity operationsCreate scalable processes that will support transition to public company requirementsProvide guidance and support to managers and employees on equity-related questions and programsYou May Be a Good Fit If You HaveA Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation8+ years of experience in equity administration, stock plan management, or related fieldStrong knowledge of equity compensation principles (stock options, RSUs)Experience with Shareworks equity management platformsProficiency in payroll systems integration and tax withholding processesDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills with ability to explain complex equity concepts to employeesStrong Candidates May HaveExperience at high-growth technology companies during scaling phasesKnowledge of US and international equity compensation and tax requirementsExcellent project management skills with a track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiativesAdvanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with modelingThe annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.Annual Salary:$190,000 - $230,000 USDLogisticsMinimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experienceRequired field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experienceMinimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the positionLocation-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
