RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will operate assigned scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images of the patient's body, maintaining a patient-centered approach and providing excellent customer service. This position is per diem; shifts will vary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (90%) Sonography Imaging Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure. Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures, positioning patients appropriately. Performs routine and advanced sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury with minimal supervision, providing patient support throughout the procedure. Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS). M sustains an orderly and clean work area, sanitizing equipment and promoting safety habits for patients and team members. M sustains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements. Sonography Department Support (5%) Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades. Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary. Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise. Other Duties as Assigned (5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing. Sonography certification in an imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.). Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently. Preferred Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
