Frontera Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Staff Pediatrician (MD) to deliver high-quality primary medical care in Fredericksburg, TX. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will manage an outpatient panel, provide clinical oversight, and drive community health initiatives in a supportive clinic environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide direct pediatric clinical care (~4,200 annual encounters / 40 hours weekly), including routine check-ups, acute illness diagnosis, and management plans.
• Review lab/X-ray results promptly, coordinate specialty referrals, and participate in scheduled emergency on-call coverage if required by local hospitals.
• Supervise support staff, mentor medical students, and collaborate with the Medical Director on quality improvement and PCMH standards.
• Educate patients and families on preventive health, disease management, and community health promotion initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school of medicine.
• Active, unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board.
• Current DEA and DPS certificates to practice in Texas.
• Active CPR for Healthcare Professionals certification.
• Ability to hold privileges at designated area hospitals (if required).
• Proficiency in the Texas Medical Practice Act, pediatric protocols, and EHR documentation.

• Experience: 1+ years of direct pediatric practice experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish (speaking and writing).

Physical and work requirements:

• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/move >50 lbs as needed during patient care.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic clinic environment with standard exposure to healthcare settings.
