Job Title: RN Corrections

Location: Malone NY

Duration: 1 year 6 months

Shift: 2p-10p, 11p-7a, 3p-11p on weekends

Duties:

• Maintains accurate counts of controlled medication, tools and sharps
• Maintains log book with accurate reflection of all events during shift
• Ensures current orders for 1:1 Medication, Insulin, Ensure & MAT for 5 pm & 8PM med run
• Completes finger stick glucose as per MD orders.
• Reorders medication when needed via CIPS
• Completes assessment for nurses sick call, emergency sick call and emergency response to all areas of facility when needed inclusive of Visitors.
• Initiates blood exposure protocol for I/I & Employee when significant exposure is deemed by MD on call or Tele-med, HIV testing when indicated.
• Conducts emergency tele-med when needed (for Incarcerated Individuals), administration of TB tests for employees.
• Employee accident reports and emergency treatment, screening of incoming draft charts.
• Orientation of incoming draft.
• SHU admission
• Routine EKG's, completion of pre-op histories and pre-anesthesia forms, coordination and organizing routine physical exams, Input data into FHS1 Computer system, enter lab appointments, OMH and MD appointments based on priority, Referral of Medical, Dental and Psychiatric services as needed.
• Advises Security staff when sharps containers are full to bring sharps containers to medical waste building, Assignments as delegated by Nurse Administrator or Facility MD.

Background Check for past 7 years, drug screening, medicals (MMR, Varicella, TDAP, Hep B, TB Test, physicals) and work modules required before start.
