Kean Miller is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Opinion Attorney to work in our Shreveport office. This role is open to attorneys seeking a path to partnership or experienced lateral attorneys interested in a reduced‑hours role. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in oil and gas, mineral title, energy transactions, property law, or related regulatory matters. Experience with Louisiana mineral law is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Assist clients across Louisiana with upstream oil and gas matters, including mineral title examination, leasehold title opinions, and due diligence. Support large‑scale mineral acquisition projects, mineral leasing, surface use agreements, and complex upstream transactional work. Draft and negotiate farm‑out/farm‑in agreements, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, servitudes, conveyances, and other energy‑related contracts. Conduct legal research, prepare title opinions, and assist with curative work and transactional documentation. Support CCUS projects, including carbon sequestration servitudes, lease agreements, and related regulatory compliance. Collaborate with clients, landmen, in‑house counsel, and regulatory agencies to advance operations and transactions. Represent clients before Louisiana administrative and regulatory bodies, including the Office of Conservation, Department of Natural Resources, and State Mineral and Energy Board.
