Crisis Intervention Specialist

Position Summary Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center founded in 1978, is recruiting a full‑time Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) for our Behavioral Health Adult Mobile Crisis Program in Vancouver, Washington. The CIS will serve as the primary responder within a two‑person team, providing outreach, assessment, referral, and follow‑up services to individuals identified through the Southwest Washington Crisis line, 911, or CRESA. The role is located within the adult mobile crisis intervention team and is classified as an hourly position with a rate of $24.81 per hour. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist in ensuring agency compliance with WACs, RCWs, and other applicable laws, regulations, and contracts. Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures directed by the Program Director. Educate staff on crisis referral processes and psycho‑educational topics such as suicide risk assessment and behavior modification. Maintain accurate documentation of crisis services in EPIC. Receive, process, and respond personally to mobile crisis referrals. Document the nature of crisis referrals, outreach activities, and outcomes. Demonstrate knowledge and skills required for adult crisis outreach services. Apply principles of risk assessment, de‑escalation, safety planning, and referral to more restrictive alternatives (e.g., DCR, inpatient, 911). Refer patients to psychiatric and other health‑care services as appropriate. Maintain professional standards and follow Sea Mar treatment policies and federal, state, and local regulations. Attend AMCI daily crossover meetings and share relevant information. Provide suicide risk assessment and develop safety plans. Offer crisis stabilization and de‑escalation services as needed. Perform opioid overdose risk screening and provide appropriate follow‑up, including Narcan distribution. Gather information on past mental health services for use in treatment plan development. Maintain an active Department of Health credential. Education & Experience Minimum qualifications: B.A. level in a related field or an A.A. level with two years’ experience in mental health or related fields. Must have a current TB test and a current Department of Health credential. Additional Requirements License in CPR required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Annual flu vaccine is required, except for employees with a medical or religious exemption approved by Administration; such employees must wear a mask at all times during flu season. Proof of COVID vaccination is required. The organization is a mandatory COVID‑19 and flu vaccine provider.
