Pinnacle Valley Westrock Animal Hospital is currently looking for dedicated, professional team members to join our support staff ( Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, Kennel Assistants ). We are looking for intelligent, self-motivated, dependable people who love animals, to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused clinic. Pre-Veterinary students are strongly encouraged to apply, and will gain invaluable experience.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required for all candidates. We cross-train to work in other areas of the clinic. Prior experience is a bonus, but we are willing to train the right person. Bring a recent pay stub, and we will beat your current rate!

Animal care is our top priority. Weekend and Holiday shifts rotate and are mandatory.

Qualifications for all candidates:

• Work ethic and willingness to learn is a must.
• Previous customer service experience desired.
• Previous veterinary technician/assistant, and/or kennel experience preferred
• Must be able to work schedule, which includes varied days and times (7-3, 9-6, 7-6), rotate weekends and some holiday work.
• Reliable transportation

Skills and Abilities for all candidates:

• Must enjoy and be comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes, temperaments and breeds, including handling and lifting animals as necessary. Must desire to learn more.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Professional appearance and positive conduct.
• Punctuality and dependability required!

Veterinary Technician/Assistant will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:

• Basic animal care duties, such as walking, feeding, and changing bedding.
• Patient handling and restraint.
• Basic grooming, such as nail trim/dremel, and expressing anal glands.
• Medicating patients per doctor's orders with IV, PO, SQ, and topical medications.
• Obtaining samples (blood/urine/feces, etc...) for in house and reference laboratory tests.
• Operating in-house laboratory machines.
• Obtaining vitals.
• Obtaining x-rays.
• Assisting doctor in exam rooms.
• Basic janitorial duties.

Kennel Assistants are responsible for duties including, but not limited to:

• Basic animal care duties, such as walking, feeding, and changing bedding.
• Patient handling and restraint.
• Basic grooming, such as bathing, brushing out, and nail trims.
• Ensuring all kennels and kennel areas remain clean and orderly.
• Assist in other areas of the hospital as needed.
• Miscellaneous janitorial duties.
