Senior Property Loss Control Consultant - Fire Protection

Help leading organizations protect their people, facilities, and business continuity. TÜV SÜD is seeking an experienced Senior Property Loss Control Consultant to join our growing Global Risk Consultants team. This is an opportunity to apply your fire-protection and property-risk expertise across diverse industrial environments—assessing complex exposures, developing practical loss-prevention strategies, and presenting recommendations directly to client decision-makers. This position is remote-based, with a preferred location near Dearborn or the greater Detroit area. Candidates in Michigan area and surrounding markets are also encouraged to apply. What you’ll do: Conduct property loss-control surveys evaluating fire, property, and business-interruption exposures Assess automatic sprinkler systems, fire pumps, water supplies, building construction, occupancies, special hazards, and natural-hazard risks Develop clear, standards-based recommendations supported by pre- and post-mitigation loss estimates Translate complex technical findings into high-quality reports and persuasive client presentations Advise risk managers, financial leaders, facility representatives, and other client decision-makers Manage projects involving plan reviews, specialized site visits, proposals, and stewardship reporting Serve as a technical resource through peer reviews, training, and guidance to other consultants What you’ll bring: A bachelor’s degree in fire protection, engineering, or another relevant technical discipline—or equivalent professional experience At least five years of consulting experience in fire protection, property loss control, or a closely related field Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and industrial fire-protection principles Experience evaluating fire-protection systems and complex commercial or industrial property risks The ability to independently manage field assignments, technical analysis, reports, and client relationships Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to senior client stakeholders A PE, CFPS, or similar professional certification—or progress toward one is highly valued Willingness to travel domestically up to approximately 50%, with occasional international travel At TÜV SÜD, your expertise will have a visible impact.
