Registered Nurse (RN) Acute Care - Staffing Resource Office (SRO) Float Pool - All Shifts

UVA Health seeks experienced Registered Nurses to join our award‑winning interdisciplinary team within our 600+ bed Academic University Medical Center. The Float Pool RN will be available for full‑time, part‑time, and PRN positions. As a Float Pool RN, you will provide direct patient care across all healthcare units within your level of care, learn new nursing areas, and expand your exposure to all specialties. You will be a versatile, flexible team player dedicated to improving patient outcomes and advancing interprofessional collaboration. Responsibilities Relationship Based Care – Self and Colleagues: maintain a professional relationship with self, colleagues and patient/family that enhances the patient experience. Relationship Based Care – Patients and Families: foster positive interactions with patients and families that support care delivery. Expert Caring: conduct clinical assessment, planning, coordinating and implementing care plans. Empowered Leaders: demonstrate knowledge of and actively participate in shared governance. Quality Achievement: comply with documentation guidelines, analyze outcomes data, engage in performance improvement activities and adhere to standard work. Other duties may be assigned in accordance with the nursing scope of practice. Experience: One year of relevant nursing experience. Licensure: Licensed RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia; American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required. Physical Demands Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending/stooping, and the ability to lift, push, or pull 20–50 lbs. Proficient communication, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly are essential. Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious diseases may occur. Compensation The starting base rate for this role is $39.90 per hour. Individual compensation will be determined by qualifications, experience, and education.
