Geisinger is proud to offer a per diem Patient Care Technician market leading pay rates, up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights and weekend shifts and up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN.

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual who is committed to delivering the highest quality care to our patients. They will demonstrate a strong ability to meet both the orientation and long-term per diem scheduling requirements of the role. Reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance are essential this candidate consistently shows up on time and ready to contribute meaningfully each day. They are responsive and dependable, with excellent teamwork and communication skills that foster collaboration and support across the care team. A proactive and engaged presence is key to thriving in this role and ensuring exceptional patient outcomes.

Geisinger is excited to be piloting a new model of care on our Advanced Acute Care Units at our Danville, Bloomsburg, and Shamokin campuses. The ACE Nursing Model of Care utilizes more Patient Care Technician staff to take responsibility for and perform the duties that do not require a nursing license. This new model of care will allow Patient Care Technicians more opportunity for career advancement, autonomy in their role, and greater involvement in the delivery of patient care.

Primary duties may include:

• Being the primary facilitator of ADLs: hygiene, toileting, mobility, meals
• Collecting vital signs & daily weights
• Conducting Point of Care testing
• Turning & repositioning patients
• Performing equipment checks & exchanges
• Dressing care
• Removal of Foley Catheter and Peripheral IV
• Nasogastric tube removal and performing nasal swabs
• Checking code carts and oxygen storage cabinets
