Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for providing specialized perioperative care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role involves maintaining patient safety, supporting surgical teams, and ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery according to protocols.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure smooth intraoperative procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to changes during surgery.
• Maintain sterile techniques and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
• Document procedures, patient responses, and relevant clinical findings accurately.
• Assist with post-operative recovery and discharge planning to support patient recovery.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an RN in the Operating Room.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Hold a valid GA or Compact RN license at the time of application.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to float within facility scope and work every other weekend.
