Remote Child Care Licensing Inspector | Travel Up to 75%

Child Care Licensing Inspector (III, IV, V) This role involves monitoring, investigating, licensing, and training child‑care facilities to ensure compliance with Texas child‑care laws and safety standards. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, managing investigations, processing applications, providing technical assistance, and responding to emergency complaints. Key Responsibilities Monitors licensed and registered child‑care facilities, documents compliance or noncompliance, and notifies providers of required corrective actions. Conducts inspections, takes photographs, and ensures accurate documentation and risk mitigation. Investigates complaints and allegations of minimum standard violations, ensuring timely initiation and actions. Evaluates new applications, processes permits, and documents acceptance decisions. Recommends referrals to enforcement when warranted and follows up on actions. Provides training, technical assistance, and attends or presents at provider meetings. Responds to emergency complaints of high‑risk situations. Performs other duties as assigned to maintain unit operations. Qualifications Valid Texas driver’s license; reliable transportation. Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university or equivalent experience. Experience in regulatory services such as inspections and investigations preferred. Knowledge of Texas child‑care laws and regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and use emotional intelligence. Critical thinking, risk assessment, and mitigation skills. Self‑starter, organized, and able to manage priorities. Basic office equipment operation, including camera/AV equipment. Ability to travel (up to 75% of time). Additional Requirements Background check including criminal history and Texas Child Abuse and Neglect Registry. Verification of degree(s) or equivalent credentials. Capacity to work flexible hours; occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Eligibility for telework; may require mobile technology. Employment Details Salary: $4,250.00–$5,094.16 monthly. Full‑time position; non‑exempt. Based in San Antonio (3635 SE Military Drive).
