Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for an Acute Care Nephrology and Cardiology Unit requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• 25-bed Acute Care Nephrology and Cardiology unit in a hospital setting
• Cares for patients with End Stage Renal Disease, post renal or heart transplant, chest pain pre- and post-cardiac cath, pacemaker/AICD placement, and autoimmune or connective tissue disorders
• Patient ratio of 1 to 5
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as needed
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides relevant education
• Identifies discharge planning needs and consults appropriate resources in a timely manner
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
