Senior Mainframe Developer

To support the financial services industry, the remote contract Senior Mainframe Developer will design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe platforms, focusing on high-volume transaction processing systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe platforms Analyze business and technical requirements to deliver scalable, reliable solutions and troubleshoot production issues Participate in code reviews and support modernization initiatives while maintaining critical legacy systems Required qualifications 8+ years of IBM Mainframe development experience Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM Experience supporting enterprise-scale production applications Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Excellent communication and collaboration skills
