Custodian Lead

This job was posted by : For more information, please see: The purpose of this position is to lead and perform a variety of custodial duties in and around County public buildings and grounds and assures work is completed within applicable safety standards. Position ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed. Serves as lead to assigned crew by organizing and assigning work, setting priorities, and following up to ensure completion of work and compliance of work with standards; provides on-the-job training to new employees and instructs staff on proper work procedures; Ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures and safety regulations; monitors work; coordinates employee timesheets. Ensures proper handling and proper disposal of health and safety hazard wastes. Keeps knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper applications up-to-date to ensure compliance with County Health Department safety regulations. Monitors and documents the need for minor repairs of lights, tables, faucets, drains and other equipment; completes required custodial reports and documentation. Conducts special projects and assists with recycling activities as required. Provides assistance with coordinating and maintaining custodial supply inventories. May change light bulbs; assemble furniture; assist with painting and minor maintenance; may perform dish washing and may be required to travel between job sites.
