Clinical Nurse Coordinator Pulmonary

Mission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator Pulmonary to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will serve as a clinical leader and primary resource for patients with pulmonary and respiratory conditions, coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across the continuum. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Pulmonary collaborates closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and the broader interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and ensure safe, evidence-based treatment in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include triaging and prioritizing patient care needs, performing comprehensive assessments, administering medications and treatments, monitoring complex respiratory status, and providing patient and family education on disease management, medications, oxygen therapy, and lifestyle modifications. You will coordinate discharges and transitions of care, arrange necessary referrals and follow-up appointments, and ensure timely documentation in the electronic health record. As a key clinical resource, you will mentor and support nursing staff, participate in onboarding and ongoing education, reinforce clinical standards and protocols, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives focused on pulmonary outcomes, patient safety, and patient satisfaction. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Pulmonary plays an active role in interdisciplinary rounds, contributes to performance metrics such as readmission reduction and length of stay, and helps align daily practice with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
