Data Scientist

Salary: $120,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• We require at least 1 year of applied end-to-end industry experience, including internships, working with complex datasets across curation, querying, aggregation, exploratory analysis, and visualization
• We look for experience using statistical techniques to analyze data, detect patterns, perform root cause analysis, uncover insights, and propose solutions
• We need the ability to formulate and solve problems mathematically
• We value the ability to derive forward-looking implications from retrospective analyses
• We require strong proficiency in handling, processing, and visualizing tabular data with SQL, Pandas, and R
• We expect basic software development skills, along with experience using bash, Linux/Unix, and git
• We need the ability to turn ambiguous requests into clear requirements and produce high-quality reports through strong communication
• We require a bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, biostatistics, data science, computer science, or a related discipline
• Preferred: a masters degree in a quantitative discipline
• Preferred: prior exposure to finance through academic projects, relevant coursework, or industry internships
• Preferred: experience in a production-oriented environment and familiarity with CI/CD, git, and Airflow

• We design and build systems that verify data accuracy and monitor data health across data stores and live feeds
• We proactively detect unusual production behavior and communicate findings clearly to the relevant stakeholders
• We carry out ad hoc analyses on research and production trading systems in partnership with leadership
• We apply financial domain knowledge and statistical methods to generate actionable insights from our production trading and research systems
• We develop analysis pipelines that automate valuable monitoring work for ongoing use
