Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for an SLP-CCC seeking a dynamic assignment covering a maternity leave from August 12, 2026, through November 6, 2026. In this full-time role, you'll have the chance to work closely with an elementary caseload of 2nd and 3rd graders—all in the same welcoming school building. This assignment features a manageable caseload of approximately 40 students, allowing you to deliver focused speech and language support. Experience with AAC devices is a significant asset, as you'll collaborate with students who benefit from augmentative and alternative communication tools.
Ideal candidates will offer specialized expertise and a compassionate approach, helping students communicate effectively and thrive.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Illinois SLP-CCC license and valid PEL (Professional Educator License)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Experience working with school-aged children, ideally in grades 2 and 3
- Familiarity with AAC devices and their integration into student support plans
- Strong collaborative skills to work with teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language services to a caseload of 40 second and third grade students
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and develop individualized treatment plans
- Support students’ use of AAC devices and assistive technologies
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
- Offer guidance and consultation to teachers and families
- Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
