Production & Procurement Manager

Description

The Production Manager oversees all production operations across the business, ensuring that sewing, printing, cutting, metal fabrication, and 3D production workflows run efficiently, safely, and on schedule. This role acts as the central project manager and coordinator for the entire production pipeline, ensuring smooth handoffs, clear communication, and consistent output quality.

The Production Manager is responsible for daily oversight of production teams, maintaining lean manufacturing standards, managing procurement, monitoring inventory levels, and planning for seasonal and budgetary needs. This role requires strong organizational skills, hands on leadership, and the ability to manage multiple production streams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight

• Lead and supervise all production departments, including sewing, printing, cutting, metal fabrication, and 3D production.
• Ensure production schedules are met and workflows move smoothly from one stage to the next.
• Monitor output quality and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
• Proactively coordinate cross department communication to prevent bottlenecks and delays.

Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement

• Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize workflow.
• Identify process gaps and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Standardize work procedures and ensure team adherence.

Project Management & Coordination

• Serve as the project manager for all production related work.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign tasks to ensure timely completion of orders and projects.
• Communicate production timelines, constraints, and updates to leadership.

Procurement & Inventory Management

• Oversee and execute procurement of all materials, supplies, and components.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and anticipate needs based on lead times, production cycles, and seasonal demand.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost effective purchasing aligned with budget goals.

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and safety focused work environment.
• Coordinate staffing needs based on production volume and seasonal fluctuations.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience managing production teams or manufacturing operations preferred.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practical application.
• Experience overseeing multiple production processes simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage procurement, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, hands on production environment.
• Demonstrates a growth mindset by approaching challenges with creativity, seeking mutually beneficial solutions, and maintaining commitment to problem solving.
• Takes full ownership of their responsibilities, including accountability for decisions, outcomes, and any errors within their area of oversight.
