Charge Nurse Med Surg Tele nights

Job Summary As a Charge Nurse Med Surg Tele nights, you will influence patient care through collaborative relationships with your direct manager and participation in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing. Responsibilities Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care. Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit. Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary. Assist with operationalization of nursing strategies such as employee rounding and hourly rounds to improve engagement. Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommend and implement training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines. Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN). High School Graduate or GED. Associate Degree. 1-3 years experience in a Charge Nurse position. Minimum 1 year experience in Med Surg or Tele in an acute care environment.
