Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring immediately a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist patients recovering from addictions to opioids and other illicit substances. You will perform physical exams, assessments, and manage patient methadone treatment plans, fostering a safe place for anyone beginning their recovery journey with us. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical examinations and manage methadone treatment plans. Ensure all medical evaluations, histories, and physical examinations are completed before patients receive the initial dose of medication. Maintain and sign medical orders, treatment plans, and documentation required by state and federal laws. Manage ongoing treatment, including chronic health problems, prescription medication management, and case management. Accurately complete same‑day clinical documentation using EHR visit templates. Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as needed. Collaborate with the Medical Director to meet patients’ healthcare needs. Educate patients, families, staff, and community members on medication actions, side effects, and healthy habits. Qualifications Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of employment. Unrestricted DEA license. CPR certification. First Aid certification. Clinical experience in substance abuse rehabilitation and opioid treatment preferred. Experience documenting in an electronic medical record.
