Step onto the production floor in the Queensbury, NY area and start your day ensuring every machine runs smoothly. As a Sawmill Equipment Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll keep critical assets—front-end loaders, edgers, trim saws, planer mills, and dry kilns—operational, safe, and reliable so production stays on track.

• Begin with preventive checks on conveyors, bearings, chains, and belts to reduce downtime.
• Inspect and service hydraulic hoses and pneumatic systems; address minor electrical components as needed.
• Respond to unexpected issues on equipment like edgers and trim saws, troubleshooting quickly and safely.
• Document maintenance activities and parts usage to keep records accurate and up to date.
• Collaborate with teammates to diagnose complex problems and return machines to service.
• Work to industry safety standards and site-specific protocols at all times.

• Foundational knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Experience repairing chains and belts (preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and solid troubleshooting instincts.
• Ability to work independently, organize priorities, and follow through.
• Familiarity with sawmill or lumber mill operations is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
