Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for neonatal patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to various unit needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to neonatal patients with diagnoses such as prematurity, HIE, respiratory conditions, and congenital anomalies.
• Administer medications, treatments, and specialized procedures including full body cooling, chest tubes, and surgical repairs.
• Utilize Pyxis/Omnicell and document all care accurately in EPIC EMR, demonstrating at least one year of experience.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Float to other NICU units or facilities as needed, maintaining competency and documentation.
• Adhere to safety protocols including special equipment management such as ventilators, incubators, and external shunt systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid STABLE and SC license with at least 2 years of NICU experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC EMR for a minimum of 1 year.
• Possess current BLS and NRP certifications; additional certifications in specialized procedures are required.
• Be capable of performing procedures including full body cooling, chest tubes, and managing high-frequency ventilators.
• Maintain flexibility to work night shifts, ideally 4x12s from 19:00 to 07:30.
• Must be located at least 100 miles from Prisma facilities unless exemptions apply.
