Job Title: Bistro Cook

Job Summary

The Bistro Cook is responsible for preparing breakfast and evening menu items, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, following food safety guidelines, and ensuring all food is prepared and presented according to Marriott brand standards. The Bistro Cook works closely with the Bistro Attendants and management team to create a positive and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.

Essential Functions and Duties

• Prepare and cook breakfast and evening Bistro menu items according to Marriott brand standards
• Ensure food is prepared, plated, and presented consistently and professionally
• Follow all recipes, portion controls, and food preparation procedures
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization throughout each shift
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and inventory levels
• Rotate food products and properly store all food items
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing food deliveries
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Communicate effectively with Bistro Attendants and management regarding menu items and guest requests
• Assist with setup and breakdown of breakfast and dinner service
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times
• Follow all hotel safety and security procedures
• Support fellow team members and assist with other duties as assigned

Required Experience, Education, and Skills

• Current ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Manager Certification is required
• Previous cooking, food service, restaurant, or kitchen experience preferred
• Experience preparing breakfast and light dinner menu items is a plus
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work AM or PM shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, lift, carry, and reach throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
