Financial Aid Counselor

Position Title Financial Aid Counselor Description The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for counseling and advising current and prospective students and their families on federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, and assisting with the removal of barriers to receive educational funding. Department Student Financial Wellness & Assistance Responsibilities Counseling and advising students and families on financial aid programs. Providing information on policies, procedures, and eligibility of financial aid programs. Analyzing and processing student financial aid records including federal verification, certification of loans, awarding grants, evaluating/reviewing student files, and reconciling student accounts. Participating in orientation programs, outreach, and awareness events on and off campus. Serving as lead for one or more financial aid programs and performing other duties as assigned. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. Preferred Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to a fast‑paced environment. Customer service experience helpful, but not required. Salary $47,500–54,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The final salary will be based on various factors such as internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other business considerations.
