Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care, including sick call, chronic care, history and physicals, and emergency care as required.

• Ensure timely, appropriate care at the right location for all patients.

• Visit the infirmary daily and document patient encounters in medical records as assigned.

• Participate in call as needed for the role.

• Adhere to the approved formulary for therapeutic regimens and request non-formulary medication approval when necessary.

• Provide in-house treatment or resources before seeking off-site referrals, handling emergencies on-site as required.

• Perform emergency treatments, demonstrate CPR techniques, and administer related drug therapies with required certifications.

• Support medical care standards by following established policies and procedures, offering instruction to colleagues when needed.

• Attend medical staff meetings, provide in-service education, and participate in monthly quality reviews and chart audits.

• Notify the Regional Medical Director and Site Health Services Administrator of any schedule changes.

• Participate in quality improvement activities, including sentinel event reviews and utilization reviews.

• Provide appropriate health care within the scope of practice, order necessary lab tests, X-rays, and ECGs.

• Initiate consultations and non-formulary requests with supervisory physician’s approval.

• Educate patients about medical conditions, medications, diets, weight control, and prescribed treatments.

• Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.

Key Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

• Current state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Certification within the scope of practice and competency to perform responsibilities as defined by state practice act.

• Current CPR certification.

• Background check, security clearance, and drug screening required.
