Job Title: Labeler & Canning Line OperatorDepartment: ProductionReports To: Filling Lead / Production ManagerFLSA Status: NonexemptSummaryResponsible for supporting the paint filling, canning, and labeling operations by preparing filling equipment, applying labels, operating production equipment, staging products, ensuring product quality, and assisting with general production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare filling stations and production equipment for specific products.Ensure fill levels are accurate by weight and that products are filled into the correct cans, pails, and containers.Safely operate labeling equipment and efficiently apply labels to containers, including quart, gallon, and five-gallon packaging.Coordinate with the Production Supervisor and/or Filling Lead regarding production priorities.Stage completed containers for canning and filling operations.Load and unload containers from conveyor filling lines.Palletize finished products by stacking and preparing shipments.Clean machinery, tanks, and production equipment using water or solvents, depending on product requirements.Minimize the use of cleaning materials while maintaining equipment cleanliness and product quality.Follow all safety, quality, housekeeping, and production procedures.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to wet and humid conditions, extreme heat, elevated work areas, and outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are typically moderate to loud.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, hourly position.
