This role focuses on developing software applications that automate verification and validation tests of implantable and external neuromodulation medical device software. The position also includes creating utilities that support automated verification, including integrations with third-party tool APIs and web-based tools. The successful candidate will contribute to test automation framework design using design patterns and sound object-oriented principles, while applying strong judgment to complex issues within established practices and policies.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESParticipate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle process, including requirements definition, analysis and designSW development with test frameworks and application to develop sophisticated automated tests for medical device softwareDevelop algorithms to solve complex problems – be able to understand and extend designs or come up with new design approachesContribute to test frameworks and tools, test design, documentation, test development/maintenance and test procedures used to drive automated test design and implementationReview design documentation and code generated by other engineers – C#, C++ Execute tests to ensure conformance of code to requirements Generate and maintain the appropriate work productsReview product design documents and test automation softwareOther duties may be assigned at the discretion of the managerREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BS or MS Degree in engineering in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field6 years of graduate-level coursework and/or experience in software verification with considerable experience in creating and maintaining automated tests Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio development environment Advanced knowledge of, and development experience with C#, C++ or JavaExperience working with configuration management, test management and defect tracking tools Demonstrable success in driving one or more strategic projects to completion2 years’ experience in managing projectsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Test automation, Quality assurance experience desirableExperience in mobile device application verificationExperience with software lifecycle processes in a medical device software (ISO 13485 & IEC 62304) or similarly regulated industry.Experience creating automated test frameworks and test scripts for Kotlin-based software systems.Ability to apply sound OO principles along with SW design patterns and practices Ability to incorporate Claude Code into programming workflow for efficiency gainsTRAVEL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to travel internationally and domestically, less than 5% of the time.WORK ENVIRONMENT If onsite, this role is based in a temperature controlled professional office setting, which may include an office or cubicle with quiet to moderate noise level. If remote, the work environment is the employee’s residence. Work may need to be completed on campus in a lab, or manufacturing environment such as clean room or warehouse. Personal protective equipment is required in the clean room and may be needed in a lab. The noise level in the lab, and manufacturing environments are quiet to moderate.
