Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a high-acuity step-down ICU unit currently designated as a COVID care unit. The role involves providing compassionate, quality care to patients with complex medical needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Stabilize and closely monitor patients with conditions such as sepsis, COPD, DKA, OD, renal issues, surgical, and respiratory problems.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Perform and interpret ECG exams on the first day of shift.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Float to the Tele-MedSurg unit as needed to support staffing requirements.
• Follow infection control protocols, including proper PPE usage and disposal.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in good standing.
• BLS, ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU or high-acuity nursing experience.
• Ability to perform ECG exams confidently.
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
