Banter Barbershop is a newer shop in downtown Knoxville that just celebrated its grand opening — and we're already growing. We're looking for talented  Master Barbers and Cosmetologists to join our team in the heart of downtown Knoxville.

We're not a corporate chain. We're a locally-owned shop built for barbers who want to grow their clientele, keep more of what they earn, and work in a space that actually feels good to be in every day.

Our Services & Earning Potential

Banter offers a full menu that gives every barber natural upsell opportunities on top of the base cut — which is exactly how our average ticket reaches $58:

• Signature Haircut ($38) — our core service and the start of nearly every visit
• Beard Trim & Sculpting ($26) — a near-automatic add-on for bearded clients
• 14-Step Straight Razor Shave ($30) — our signature ritual experience
• Recharge Facial ($40) — a premium add-on that elevates any visit
• Banter Precision Wax — ear & nose waxing ($15), easy upsell at checkout
• Buzz Cut ($25) and  Little Man Cut ($30) — additional core services

A client who comes in for a Signature Haircut and adds a Beard Trim or Facial puts their ticket well above our average — and your earnings right along with it.

Master Barber / Cosmetologist

• Keep 50% of every ticket — with our average ticket at $58, that adds up fast
• 1099 independent contractor — flexible schedule with the support of an established shop
• Walk into an established shop with built-in foot traffic in downtown Knoxville

What We're Looking For

• Active Tennessee barber or cosmetology license (or ability to obtain before start date)
• Master Barbers and experienced Cosmetologists strongly encouraged to apply
• Strong technical skills: fades, tapers, beard work, straight razor a plus
• Reliable, professional, and great with clients

Compensation

• Keep 50% of every ticket (avg. ticket $58)
• Keep 100% of your own tips
