Registered Nurse - Operating Room (RN)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient and effective operations within the main operating room.
Responsibilities
- Function as the charge nurse for the night shift, overseeing the surgical schedule and ensuring cases are completed efficiently.
- Prepare operating rooms for upcoming procedures when not actively engaged in scheduled cases.
- Maintain timely starts for first cases of the day to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide call coverage on weekends and potentially work regular weekend shifts as needed by the department.
- Float to other operating rooms when necessary, though interfacility floatation is highly unlikely.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role.
- Candidates must have a travel nursing background and be independent, knowledgeable, and organized in managing surgical case schedules.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS; CNOR certification preferred.
- Experience with thoracic and vascular procedures is essential, as these skills are necessary for independent call coverage.
Schedule
This position requires a night shift schedule of four 10-hour shifts from 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Sunday through Wednesday.
Additional Information
Candidates with previous experience in robotics, general surgery, urology, gynecology, bariatric procedures, minor vascular, plastics, and thoracic cases are highly desirable.
