Full-Time Staff Nurse

Full time position beginning at the start of the 2026-27 school year. Assist the school nurse, building principal, and secretary in the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of the school.

Responsibilities:


* Provide assistance to injured and ill students.


* Assist students as needed in the bathroom and/or infirmary with toileting and clean up utilizing universal precautions.


* Administer first aid in accordance with established procedures.


* Dispense medication in accordance with established policy.


* Carry out nursing procedures such as catheterization, tube feedings, diabetic testing and calculation, nebulizer treatments, and other procedures ordered by a Physician.


* Keep records on all student and health-related activities.


* Keep the school nurse informed on all infirmary-related activities.


* Answer phones and assist in general building communication.


* Assist in carrying out state-mandated health programs.


* Maintain and communicate information to appropriate building staff and parents when needed.


* Assist with general office work as required.


* Assist in the training of other staff regarding appropriate procedures or universal precautions.

Minimum Qualifications:


* Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required.


* Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.


* Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.


* Well organized and good time management skills.


* Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.


* Emotionally able to deal calmly with normal school crises.

Terms of Employment:


* 10-month position, 7 hours per day (8:30 am to 4:00 pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch).
* $35.21 per hour after successful completion of the probationary period.
