Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Mission Mountain Empowerment facilities and vehicles are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position plays a key role in maintaining a secure and comfortable environment for both clients and staff. Key Responsibilities Develop and follow schedules for facility and vehicle maintenance. Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including tasks completed, materials used, and time spent. Submit maintenance checklists and reports to management in a timely manner. Prioritize and respond to work orders, addressing urgent issues promptly. Obtain bids from contractors and suppliers for specialized repairs and projects. Troubleshoot and perform skilled repairs in electrical, plumbing, heating, and general remodeling. Perform vehicle maintenance and minor repairs to ensure safety and reliability. Collaborate with staff and departments to coordinate facility needs and resolve maintenance issues. Stay current with industry best practices and technologies to improve maintenance operations. Qualifications Previous experience in facility and/or vehicle maintenance preferred. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair practices. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively. Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Requirements Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Required Experience: Experience in general facilities maintenance or a related field; proven track record of successfully completing preventive maintenance tasks and managing maintenance schedules; experience in working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable; demonstrated expertise in electrical, plumbing, heating, and remodeling tasks; experience in vehicle maintenance and repairs is a plus. Required Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of general facilities management and contracting; proficiency in performing electrical, plumbing, heating, and remodeling tasks; ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints; excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively; strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and submit checklists in a timely manner; ability to review work orders, obtain bids, and manage vendor relationships; strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear updates on maintenance activities; ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently; physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions; commitment to ensuring a safe and functional environment for individuals with disabilities and staff.
