Role Overview:

The Machinist II sets up and operates computer numerical control (CNC) and conventional work centers to produce a variety of standard and custom component parts used in pneumatic cylinder manufacturing. This role follows established procedures and works from work orders, blueprints, charts, and verbal instructions to machine parts of average complexity for multiple product lines.

Work Environment: Rockford, IL Onsite M-Th 8x10's Second-shift with 10% diff, OT as required, Will consider 1st for the right candidate

Pay-$21-23/hr Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Works at primary computer numerical work center on a regular basis to meet production-scheduling requirements. May occasionally cross train or work at additional work center(s).
• Install and adjust various types of tooling in the work centers.
• Insert computer programs into CNC work centers.
• Cut, and/or position raw materials into machine center jaws/fixtures.
• Progress first piece through the initial run analyzing and making standard adjustments to tooling programs and operating parameters of work centers (speeds, feeds, basic M&G codes, etc).
• Operate work centers to perform progressive turning, drilling and tapping machine operations, which are of average complexity to produce stated quantities of component parts.
• Monitor ongoing operations through machine cycles, load and unload work centers as necessary on a concurrent basis.
• Inspect parts for stated dimensions and surface imperfections.
• Performs basic troubleshoot to identify problems affecting machining operations involving tooling, materials, work center and programs. Needs assistance from others to resolve.
• Modify cutting tools as necessary.
• Prepare the required paperwork and place completed work in designated location.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required
• Notify supervisory personnel of equipment and operating difficulties.
• May assist & train lower level machine positions.

Critical Competencies for Success:

· Minimum of 1 year CNC machining experience and/or 4 years manual machining experience.

· Proficient in the use of cutting tools and measuring instruments

· Read and understand blueprint drawings

· Personal / Team Building Skills:

o Individual must be passionate about CNC machining while an effective problem solver who is able to work in fast paced environment. Must have the ability to change and organize priorities as workload dictates. Will know how to balance multiple priorities and work toward objectives without losing sight of details. Must be open to new ideas, friendly, collaborative, a team player and committed in serving our clients. Strives for self–improvement, proactive in advancing skills and always willing to learn.
