Mechanical Assembly And Lead Mechanical Assembly PositionsAdvanced Power Technologies (APT) / Blauberg is a manufacturer of generator and distribution switchboards, switchgear, and control panels. We have immediate openings for Mechanical Assembly and Lead Mechanical Assembly positions at our manufacturing facility in Lafayette, Indiana.This is a hands-on manufacturing position assembling components of electrical distribution equipment from engineered mechanical drawings. Company-provided training is available, and we are looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who work well both independently and as part of a team.Work EnvironmentNew state-of-the-art modern manufacturing facility.Company-provided on-the-job training.Clean, hard-working, family-friendly work environment.Hands-on manufacturing, assembly, metal work, and electrical equipment production.Heavy-duty manual and power tools with industrial toolboxes.Adequate tools provided for each group's individual toolbox.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble components of electrical distribution equipment according to provided engineered mechanical assembly drawings.Perform mechanical build-up of equipment enclosures and internal components from subassemblies.Properly and safely use common shop tools, hand tools, and power tools.Accurately make measurements in 1/32-inch increments.Perform quality and safety inspections on parts, orders, and equipment.Identify and assist with resolving mechanical build or drawing discrepancies as they arise.Maintain a clean and safe work area and perform other assigned shop duties as required.RequirementsStrong attention to detail and workmanship quality.Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment.Comfortable using common hand tools and power tools.Ability to follow drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements.Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, whole numbers, and common fractions.Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a safe and organized work area.High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, work experience, and skill development.Preferred Skills & ExperienceAbility to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.Previous mechanical assembly, fabrication, wiring, construction, or related hands-on experience.Experience with measuring devices, screwdrivers, socket wrenches, torque wrenches, drills, impact drivers, saws, or similar shop tools.Basic computer literacy.Familiarity with AutoCAD prints or drawings.Experience training, mentoring, or assisting other team members is beneficial for Lead Mechanical Assembly candidates.What We OfferCompensation commensurate with experience and skills.Competitive hourly wage within the Greater Lafayette market.Health, dental, vision, and life insurance.Paid time off and paid holidays.Performance-based profit-sharing bonus.First-shift schedule with approximately 40–50 hours per week.Less than 5% typical travel.Work Location: In person at our Lafayette, Indiana facility.Join a collaborative manufacturing team building switchgear, control panels, and critical power equipment.Apply for This Position
