Desktop Support Analyst

About the Role

Join a leading global hedge fund as an IT support professional providing hands-on technology support in our NYC office. You’ll work closely with users and senior IT staff across a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage Active Directory accounts, groups, permissions, password resets, and MFA.
  • Provide Windows, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, and application support both remotely and on-site.
  • Manage workstation patching and assist with server patching using KACE; monitor compliance and vulnerabilities.
  • Provision and troubleshoot RDP and VPN access and maintain remote/DR workstations.
  • Support Bloomberg terminals, trading-floor systems, developer tools, SQL tools, scheduling/container platforms, and approved AI applications.
  • Assist with tape restores, file/database recovery, and quarterly audit restores.
  • Deploy and decommission hardware, support office moves, printers, phones, inventory, and software licensing.
  • Own service desk tickets and walk-up, email, chat, and phone requests; maintain documentation and escalate issues as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of desktop support, help desk, or IT operations experience.
  • Hands-on Active Directory and Windows 10/11 experience.
  • Strong Microsoft 365, Teams, and Outlook knowledge.
  • Basic PowerShell and scripting skills.
  • Familiarity with KACE, SCCM, Intune, or similar endpoint tools.
  • Experience with workstation deployment, imaging, peripherals, asset management, and decommissioning.
  • Familiarity with RDP, VPN, networking, and standard security practices.
  • Regulated/controlled-environment experience is a plus.
  • Financial services and Bloomberg experience is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.

Working Arrangements

  • On-site in NYC; no remote or hybrid option.
  • Occasional scheduled after-hours work for patching and restores.
  • Ability to move/install IT equipment and work in server rooms and wiring closets.
  • Occasional travel to the CT office as needed.
