The Minneapolis office focuses on the following sectors of Federal, Healthcare, Local Government and in the areas of Manufacturing & Distribution. The ideal candidate will have an ability to work with Market Sector Leadership to develop and cultivate a network and opportunities in the area of business development and marketingDuties and Responsibilities:We are moving our team leadership forward to focus on growth through opportunity, design and innovation.• Expert in specific Electrical requirements for applications in germane market(s). With the ability to focus on building systems dedicated to power, lighting, and low voltage• Encourages collaboration to seek the best solutions• Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering• Ability to lead and mentor designer level staff on all of their responsibilities• Review and discuss project goals, objectives, design standards and procedures with Project Managers and Director of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering• Front-end involvement to apply best practices to set the proper direction of the project in SDs and DDs.• Responsible for applying firms risk management practices of project engineering• Contributes to revisions of company design standards and master specifications for discipline• Lead and develop a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers assigned to applicable projects to ensure quality assurance, discipline scope, scheduling and budgeting• Provide information for and participate in various pre-design services such as: feasibility, site selection, and cost analysis• Prepares studies and reports for electrical systems on projects as well as edits and develops basis of design narratives documenting project scope• Executes complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination• Prepare code compliance evaluations and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance in relation to zoning laws, fire regulations, building codes and other ordinances• Develops as well as oversees development of design concepts by designers, technicians to better ensure proper application and execution• Demonstrate experience in document delivery related to varied approaches such as Design-Bid-Build, fast-track delivery, and Integrated delivery via Design-Build• Leads the design team to produce construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget• Proven competency in delivering using Revit and other BIM applications. This will include the work planning activities associated to a BIM enabled process• Report status of design process and cost analysis to Director and Project Manager and evaluates Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk• Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects• Meeting project budgets and schedule objectives while championing a rigorous Quality Management processQualifications:This position will collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of Architects and Engineers and be responsible for the electrical engineering leadership for multiple projects that may be scheduled concurrently. Background in one or more of our markets will be seen as a plus.• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and visually with project team personnel, department personnel, internal office staff, and clientele• Ability to successfully and continuously lead a team of engineering professionals to meet and exceed project and department goals• Revit MEP Proficiency is desired with knowledge of how to leverage other production software focus on BIM• Proficiency of Microsoft Office Applications and electrical design software• Extensive knowledge of building codes• Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in a number of projects and remain up-to-date on the various developmental stages• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills• Maintain a strong appreciation for a process of quality managementEducation and License Requirements:• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering• Professional Registration as an Electrical Engineer• The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field.• Experience in designing within our markets of Federal, Healthcare or Industrial is desired• Current affiliation and/or membership of local, state, or national industry organization(s) is a plus• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification is a plus• LEED® Accredited Professional is a plusAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
