• Schedule / Shift Type: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-Call: 1 evening per week (11:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and 1–2 24-hour weekend call days over 15 weeks
• Scrubs / Dress Code: Scrubs provided

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience with competency as a circulator (perioperative nurse)
• Ability to scrub is preferred (surgical scrub nurse experience a plus)
• Active New Jersey RN license at time of submission (Registered Nurse license required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• CNOR certification preferred but not required (perioperative certification is advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Circulate and assist in a variety of surgical procedures, including thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute cases, pediatric PACU, and pediatric OR
• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control standards across the perioperative process
• Prepare operating room, surgical instrumentation, and supplies; verify counts and documentation
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and nursing colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and be available for assigned call shifts
• Adhere to hospital policies, perioperative protocols, and professional standards (CNOR best practices where applicable)
